Dandenong Ranges was named as the winner of the Orienteering Victoria 2010 Event of the Year, for our WOC25 Kooyoora event. OV President Bruce Arthur said the award was for promotion, arena setup and general organisation, and that he was looking for those extra touches that created a great atmosphere and made the event memorable. Our '80s music, memorabilia display and competitions certainly did that, on top of a very smoothly run event. DROC was up against the Victorian Championships, the Australian Mountain Bike Championships, a National League race, and the Victorian Relay Championships, so to win this award was very exciting, and a great tribute to all our volunteers.
